Welcome to the department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science at Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Innovation, Pune.

The forthcoming technologies like Artificial Intelligence & Data Science meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution. The landscape of business today is in a constant state of change and AI & DS makes a major impact on the industry. The Artificial Intelligent based algorithms are used to create solutions that can imitate a human closely. As we are aware of day to day life example such as Amazon Alexa, Siri, Google Maps, YouTube, Spotify, Facial Recognition and many more. In short AI is living with us. However, massive amount of data has been generated due to growth of human interaction with technology. This data is found in the raw form and is of immense value to business and research. The purpose of Data Science is to collect, process, analyse, and present this data in a visual format which helps companies or organizations in making crucial business decisions.

AI and Data science is the current trend ruling the business world and it is highly paid career now. The market demands of Data Scientists, Robotics Scientist, Data Engineer, Big Data Engineering, Data Architect, AI Research Scientist etc are increasing at a fast pace. But still, the number of people who apply for these jobs is very low; stating the fact that though there is high demand, the supply is stagnant.

This specialized engineering degree program is especially designed to empower students to build intelligent software, machines or applications with a leading-edge combination machine learning, analytics, statistics and visualization technologies. This four-year degree program consists of Eight semesters foundation and core courses, elective courses, skill development courses, audit courses, seminars, Mini and Major projects and project-based learning. The objective of this program is to develop students technical and design skills in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI & DS) to creating innovative strategies to solve challenging real-world problems. The excellent infrastructure, teaching faculty ensuring quality education such as interaction among students & parents along with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future to the students. Also, the department has good Industry-Institute Interaction. The motive of department is to make student ready for industry with excellent practical exposure in AI & DS.
The faculty members along with department students looks forward to contribute in solving the technological challenges of the society with active participation from all sections of the society.
